I was involved in a hit and run accident in August of 2017. The person only had the state minimum of car insurance of $15,000.
Geico claimed the repairs would exceed the insured coverage. They did not repair my car. My insurance company took over the claim and had my car repaired. It was not a total loss and no frame damage was found.
6 months later I go to trade my car in and Carfax has it reported as a total loss from an insurance company. I sent them my repair receipts and my adjuster let them know they did the repairs and it was not a total loss. They have refused to remove the information from the report until Geico sends them something in writing. Geico has stated numerous times that they do not report information to Carfax.
There is no channel to speak with anyone personally about any disputes.
Poor customer service and business practice. This should not be allowed.
